The most common orthodontic problems that patients encounter are loose brackets and poking wires. Pain and discomfort can occur if the problem is not resolved quickly. We encourage you to call our office as soon as possible to avoid issues like pain and unusual dental movement.
If you are unable to see us right away, there are some temporary solutions available. Wax can be placed over a poking wire or bracket. If you have a loose wire, you can use clean tweezers or needle nose pliers to guide the wire back into the bracket.
Please bring any parts of your appliance that may have broken or fallen off to your next appointment.
